Avocados - A Good Source of Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, like Vitamins A and D. This means that you dont need to take it everyday as your body will store any unused quantities for use as and when it requires. They can be stored from any amount of time between a few days to 6 months. Vitamin E is vital for overall good health and is a very important factor in healthy and proper skin care. It is also a regulator for Vitamin A which itself is also beneficial for healthy skin. Vitamin E;
- A powerful antioxidant - where it neutralizes free radicals in the body that damage tissue and cells. This also protects from damaging factors such as ultra violet light, drugs and pollution.
- Research shows that vitamin E can help treat various skin conditions and diseases such as psoriasis and erythema.
- Menstrual pains, cataracts, alzheimer’s disease, parkinsons disease, asthma, a a low sperm count, prostate and breast cancer, cardiovascular diseases, inflammation of eye tissue, rheumatoid arthiritis, diabetes and various related complications, restless leg syndrome and muscle cramping are just some more health factors that Vitamin E helps fix.
Vitamin E has Anti-Aging benefits also, which is why you will find it added to most lotions, creams and skin care products. It helps skin look younger by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Free radicals are said to play a part in skin aging, therefore vitamin E’s antioxidant properties are very valuable. You will also find Vit E in sun creams as they help prevent and treat sunburn. They protect against ultra violet light damage to the epidermis layer of the skin.
One of the most important benefits vitamin E has is the prevention of skin cancer, it does this through its sun and ultra violet light protection and its powerful antioxidant properies.
Vitamin E can be found in;
vegetable oil, margarine, wheat germ, avocado, whole grain products, liver, peanut butter, nuts, egg yolk, papaya, mango, apples, blueberries, almonds, hazlenuts, sweet potato, asparagus, spinach, mayonnaise, olives, pasta, sunflower seeds
